Carmen: L'amour est enfant de Bohême, by Mlle Pla
A classic opera title, sung by Mlle Pla who also recorded for Zonophone. This cylinder, recorded at 120rpm, lasts 2 minutes and 40 seconds, which is quite long. Very little is known about this cylinder, sold by the Maison J.GONDRY at Paris. This is not a Pathe recording, especially because of the almost orange wax, never used by the company. This is a very rare cylinder, recorded during the earliest years of french wax cylinders between 1898 and 1900. | |
