Description:

Here is a great example of really poor quality recording of the most popular section of the Faust Damnation. This "adaptation" was made for a few musicians who were badly placed in the recording studio, hence at least one trumpet sounding higher than the rest. There are obviously several blue notes in the performance, which ends straight because of the time limitations. Even Pathe did better with only two minutes at 160rpm, as opposed to this 120rpm cylinder which lasts 2min32s. And, best of all, the title is incorrectly spelled, as the tune is called Rakoczy. Once sure thing: we'll hear something better next month !
